Cooking Louisiana Pralines I

Pralines, the true southern treat.

3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 tbs. margarine
1 cup pecans

Mix milk and sugars and bring to a boil. Lowe the fire and cook until if forms a ball in cold water. (test as you go) Add margarine, vanilla and pecans and beat until slightly creamy using a wooden spoon. Stop when ripples show at the edges. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper. If mixture hardens set in a pan of hot water.
